AORTIC VALVE PAPILLARY FIBROELASTOMA IN A CAT: CASE REPORT

چکیده
Cardiac tumors are rare in cats. Usually the diagnosis can be made on echocardiographic examination. Papillary fibroelastoma this case is a primary cardiac tumor and histopathologically defined as benign. However, these types of carry risk thromboembolism may cause complications such stroke or infarction. In cases symptoms not specific vary depending size structure mass. report papillary identified echocardiographically male tabby cat discussed.

Asymptomatic papillary fibroelastoma of the Aortic valve in a young woman - a case report
Echocardiography represents an invaluable diagnostic tool for the detection of intracardiac masses while simultaneously provides information about their size, location, mobility and attachment site as well as the presence and extent of any consequent hemodynamic derangement. A 29-year-old asymptomatic young woman with incidental transthoracic echocardiographic (TTE) discovery of an aortic valve...

In 67-year-old woman without any cardiac or neurologic symptoms, a transesophageal echocardiogram showed a rounded mass attached to the non-coronary cusp of the aortic valve (Video 1). We excised the tumor with preservation of the valve (Fig. 1). Gross examination (Fig. 2) and light microscopy confirmed the diagnosis of papillary fibroelastoma. Fig. 1. Intraoperative gross appearance of the pap...

The differential diagnosis of cardiac mass is important in determining the therapeutic plan and avoiding unnecessary surgical intervention. Non-invasive imaging methods would be useful in the diagnosis of suspected cardiac mass, because they may provide earlier diagnosis and more accurate assessment of cardiac mass. Native aortic valve thrombosis is a rare disorder and difficult to differentiat...
متن کاملPulmonary valve papillary fibroelastoma diagnosed by echocardiography: a case report.
Papillary fibroelastomas (PFEs) are rare cardiac valve tumours with reported incidence of <0.03% according to autopsy studies. Among them, pulmonary valve PFEs are extremely rare. With wider use of echocardiography, they are being increasingly recognized premortem. We describe a case of a 32-year-old Caucasian woman with PFE of pulmonic valve diagnosed by echocardiography. The patient underwent...
متن کاملPapillary fibroelastoma of the aortic valve in association with rheumatic heart disease: a case report
BACKGROUND Papillary fibroelastoma (PFE) is a rare primary cardiac neoplasm that is usually discovered incidentally at autopsy or during cardiac surgery. PFE combined with rheumatic heart disease (RHD) is extremely rare, and only a few cases have been reported. Additionally, the growth rate of the tumor is unknown. CASE PRESENTATION Here, we present a very rare case of PFE of the aortic valve...
